BIO

Kevin Sanders was born and raised in Nashville, Tennessee and now calls western North Carolina home.  He started piano at the age of eight and after ten years of classical training he started doing solo wedding gigs and private parties.  Soon, he joined and/or formed several dance and cover bands that gigged in Tennessee and the surrounding area.

Always a fan of jazz standards, he began formal jazz training at the Nashville Jazz Workshop.  Learning from jazz greats like Lori Mechem, Pat Coil, Beegie Adair, Jeff Coffin, and Roland Barber helped shape and hone his skills. This led to performances throughout the southeast at festivals, concerts, showcases, and other venues, along with studio work and commercial CD projects.

Just a few of Kevin's musical influences include George Shearing, Oscar Peterson, Herbie Hancock, Gene Harris, Lori Mechem, Billy Preston, Bruce Hornsby, Jeff Lorber, and Stevie Wonder.

Comfortable with jazz, big band, pop, R&B, Latin, and blues, Kevin is at home with a wide variety of musical genres and styles.  He even gets the Bach and Chopin books back out occasionally.
